Arsenal have no option to buy loanee Dani Ceballos but his Real Madrid future is not totally assured at the Bernabeu.
The Spaniard has quickly endeared himself to Gunners supporters after signing on a season-long loan.
Ceballos has shown plenty of composure on the ball, contributed with assists and his talent his undeniable.
His performances in a red shirt have shown why Real refused to include a permanent option in his Arsenal deal.
However, the Gunners may yet have hope of landing the 23-year-old on a full-time basis come next summer.
According to Football London, there are ‘a few cogs to the deal’ that might give Arsenal hope.
A positive for Unai Emery is Zinedine Zidane being in the Bernabeu hot seat.
Ceballos and Zidane do not have a great relationship and that could well work in Arsenal’s favour.
The Spain international left Real for the 2019/20 campaign in order to get consistent first-team action at the top level.
And many have already questioned why the centre midfielder has not already worked his way into Zidane’s plans.
Additionally, Real are still looking at reinforcing their midfield in the transfer market.
While the La Liga window shut on Monday, Real remain interested in Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, and Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen is an option too.
Should Real move for one of them next year, it would see the club’s spend big again as Zidane continues the squad’s overhaul.
That would subsequently force president Florentino Perez to balance the books, and Ceballos could be a casualty.
Football London add if Ceballos is made available on the market next year, Arsenal are expected to swoop for him.
However, for the time being, Real see him as part of their long-term plans, and Arsenal will have to give him up come June 2020.
