Unai Emery says he is confident that Arsenal can still sign some “good players” to help the Gunners this summer.
The Europa League runners-up have endured a quiet summer transfer window so far after having signed one player so far.
Arsenal brought in South American teenager Gabriel Martinelli in a £1.6m deal from Brazilian club Ituano earlier this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with a host of players but Emery has struggled to get deals over the lines ahead of deadline day.
Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, Saint-Etienne defender William Saliba and Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
Speaking at his pre-match media conference after Arsenal’s pre-season victory over Fiorentina, Emery hinted that summer signings could be on the way before the start of the new Premier League season.
“We are preparing every player. Some players missed the chance to come [on tour],” Emery said.
“The players that are here maybe the moment is for them to show how we can use them to help us now.
“We know with our experience last year it’s positive to continue in our way. We were only one point of the top four.
“I am positive to sign some good players to help us. We are working very well. I’m happy with the players.”
Arsenal will start the Premier League season with a clash against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Gunners appointed Emery as Arsene Wenger’s replacement last summer after the French coach’s 22-year reign at The Emirates came to an end.
The north London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term to narrowly miss out on a spot in the Champions League.
