Fernandes to Man Utd
Manchester United will reportedly announce Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes as their first signing of the summer after the Nations League finals.
According to A Bola, United are the front-runners to land the 24-year-old in the near future.
The Portuguese outlet claim Old Trafford chiefs have a meeting with Sporting officials this week where they hope to be able to thrash out a deal.
United want an agreement sorted before the Nations League concludes on Sunday due to the significant interest in the player.
And it is claimed the Red Devils will then announce the deal as soon as the competition has ended.
A Bola report United are willing to pay between £62m and £72m to ensure Fernandes moves to Old Trafford.
Hazard announcement TONIGHT?
Real Madrid will reportedly confirm the signing of Chelsea star Eden Hazard tonight.
Chelsea are resigned to losing their finest player this summer in Hazard.
Bernabeu chief Jose Angel Sanchez flew into London this week in an attempt to agree a fee for the player.
And following Sanchez’s return to the Spanish capital today, the two clubs appear to have struck a deal, according to El Chiringuito TV, who claim there could be an announcement this evening.
The fee for Hazard is thought to be somewhere in the region of £89m, significantly less than what Chelsea had originally been demanding.
Pepe to Liverpool
Liverpool are yet to make an offer for Lille ace Nicolas Pepe.
That’s according to journalist Duncan Castles, who says the Reds have merely enquired about the French-Ivorian’s availability.
Pepe, 24, is attracting attention from the Premier League after scoring 21 goals in 36 appearances for Lille this term.
“They have made an enquiry with Lille’s forward Nicolas Pepe,” Castles told The Transfer Window podcast.
“As yet, I’m told, there’s not an offer into Lille for the player. But that to me is a much better addition to Liverpool than De Ligt at present.
“I think they need a creative midfielder, so spend your money there.
“They have to assign a backup left-back and they could probably do with some kind of backup to [Trent] Alexander-Arnold at right-back, unless they want to shift [Joe] Gomez between centre-back and right-back when necessary as they did in this past season.”
Arsenal scouting trip
Arsenal stepped up the search for an alternative to top target Samuel Umtiti this week by sending a scout to watch Dayot Upamecano.
Starsport understands Barcelona misfit Umtiti is Gunners boss Unai Emery’s preferred choice to bolster his backline next season.
But the France star, who is under contract until 2023, has asked Barca not to listen to offers for him because he wants to stay at the Nou Camp.
Umtiti would also swallow up most of Emery’s transfer budget as he only has less than £50m to spend after losing the Europa League final.
Arsenal have a list of other options to pursue as they search for a defender – and watched RB Leipzig centre back Upamecano on Monday night.
