Liverpool new boy in senior training
New signing Sepp van den Berg is a part of the pack to have returned to Melwood for pre-season training as Liverpool revealed he is ready immediately.
The teenage defender arrived for £1.3m from PEC Zwolle and there are high hopes for the Dutch kid.
He will be given a chance to prove himself with the senior side after featuring in the Eredivisie last term.
Man Utd prepare Longstaff bid
Manchester United are set to make a formal offer to Newcastle for Sean Longstaff.
But the 21-year-old midfielder could prove more expensive than first thought.
A £25m move was believed to be in the offing for the Geordie, but Sky Sports say Newcastle insist he is not for sale.
As a result, Longstaff will cost more than the £50m United spent on right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Vazquez to join Arsenal by Monday?
Arsenal could complete their second summer signing as early as Monday with a deal for Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez on the cards.
Real Madrid’s Vazquez is currently being eyed by the Spaniard as a cheaper alternative to Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha.
Spanish newspaper AS claim Emery has requested the club go all out to sign the 28-year-old who is available for around £31m.
Talks are progressing well between the two parties with the publication claiming a deal could be agreed next week.
With Real Madrid departing for their pre-season tour of America on Tuesday, AS say a deal for Vazquez is likely to be finalised on Monday so he doesn’t have to travel.
Lampard wants Zouma checked out
Frank Lampard has decided to take a closer look at Kurt Zouma before Chelsea decide whether or not to sell him to Everton.
The Frenchman has been touted to stick around at Goodison Park – with a £30m offer being floated by the Toffees.
But Starsport understands that Lampard will not be rushed into a decision over the centre back’s future.
Zouma was part of the squad that jetted off to Ireland for pre-season training on Friday.
But with a number of options already ahead of the 24-year-old at the Blues, a deal is not dead in the water.
