Tottenham will go in search of some more new signings before the transfer window closes as they aim to progress on last season.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team finished third and reached the Champions League Final – which they lost to Liverpool.
In order to continue their good work reinforcements will be required.
Tanguy Ndombele has arrived from Lyon and the supporters will hope to see a few more new faces at the club.
Danny Rose has been left out of the club’s pre-season tour to Singapore.
That would indicate a bleak future for the left-back, with previous reports in the Evening Standard linking him with an exit.
If a left-sided defender is required then Tottenham should do all they can to land Kieran Tierney from under the nose of Arsenal.
The Scotsman has reported interest from Spurs this summer, although nothing concrete has emerged from the club.
Arsenal have had a bid rejected for the Scotland international already this summer and seem reluctant to stump up the £25 million asking price (The Scottish Sun).
At 22-years-old Tierney has already played 170 times for the Hoops.
The youngster is exactly the type of player who would thrive under Pochettino.
Under the management of the Argentine, Tierney could become one of the best full-backs in world football and a move to Tottenham should excite him.
Game time shouldn’t be an issue. Rose isn’t wanted; whilst Tierney is certainly an improvement on Ben Davies.
It would also stick the boot into Arsenal’s recruitment drive should Tottenham tempt him to the white half of North London.
The two clubs will almost certainly compete for a top-four finish once more and Tottenham could really steal a march on the Gunners if they can poach Tierney.
