Sol Campbell has suggested that Tottenham are the favourites to finish in the top four ahead of Arsenal this season – but admits that it’s too early to call.
Arsenal came from two goals down to earn a point at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon in the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur.
Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane had put the Lilywhites 2-0 up away from home, but Arsenal levelled up thanks to strikes from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table and two points ahead of Spurs after the opening four games of the new campaign.
The Gunners are looking to finish in the top four this season after they came fifth and just behind Spurs, who sealed the final Champions League qualification spot last term.
Former defender Campbell feels that Spurs are slight favourites to finish in the top four once again, but says that it is too early in the season to really predict it.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday’s draw, Campbell said: “You have to see how the season develops for both teams. I think it’s too early to call now.
“You can say Spurs have had a more settled side over the last two seasons and they will be looking to get a Champions League spot again.
“Arsenal will be trying to nick that fourth spot but there’s Chelsea and Man Utd there as well. It’s far too early to call though.”
Arsenal will return to Premier League action after the international break when they travel to Watford on Sunday 15 September.
