‘So happy’, ‘tears in my eyes’: Some Arsenal fans react after seeing who’s back in training
Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli gave fans quite a scare at the weekend, so the club’s decision to share footage today of the Brazilian ace in training has gone down a treat with supporters.
The 19-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Brazilian side Ituano FC in the summer of 2019 for £6million, has thoroughly impressed since his arrival in North London.
Last season, Martinelli weighed in with 10 goals, becoming the first teenage goalscorer to reach double figures for Arsenal since Nicolas Anelka in 1998-99, plus four assists.

A long-term injury ruled him out for several months but he was back in action by December, his return to the fold helping Arsenal’s form pick up massively.
There was a big scare at the weekend as Martinelli sustained an injury during the warm-up ahead of the FA Cup third-round tie with Newcastle.
Given that he spent much of 2020 on the sidelines, there were obviously concerns that he could’ve set for another lengthy spell out of the team.
However, the club confirmed on their official website on Tuesday that he turned his ankle, was progressing very well, and was set return to training in the coming days.
And on Wednesday, Arsenal shared footage on Twitter of Martinelli in training, with the caption “back to it”.
Back to it!
