Arsenal are only “a couple of million pounds” away from matching Celtic’s valuation of Kieran Tierney, according to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol.
The north London side have been strongly linked with a move to bring the defender to The Emirates this summer as Unai Emery looks to strengthen his back-line at the north London club.
However, despite all of the speculation, there has been no official word from Arsenal about the signing of the 22-year-old Scotland international.
With the clock ticking down on the summer transfer window before the Premier League season kicks off next month, it remains to be seen whether the Gunners will be able to get a deal for Tierney over the line or not.
Now, Sky Sports News reporter Solhekol has taken to social media to deliver an update on Arsenal’s link to the defender.
Writing in a post on Twitter, Solhekol said: “Difference between what Arsenal are offering for Kieran Tierney and what Celtic want is ‘only a couple of million pounds’.
“Player is happy at Celtic but would like the chance to speak to Arsenal if deal can be agreed.”
Arsenal confirmed the signing of Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid on a season-long loan deal on Thursday.
The Gunners also announce the signing of 18-year-old defender William Saliba – although he will spend next season back on loan at Saint-Etienne.
Arsenal will kick off their new Premier League campaign with a trip to Newcastle United on 11 August.
