Arsenal star Nicolas Pepe took on a new name on Sunday thanks to Sky Sports.
The Ivorian forward has struggled to adapt to life at the Emirates.
And Sky Sports have clearly been so underwhelmed by the 24-year-old they forgot his name.
While showing the line-ups for Sunday’s 2pm Premier League matches, there was something not quite right about the Arsenal XI.
Two of the front three in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka appeared as normal.
However, they were joined by ‘Pete’.
No, Arsenal have not joined forces with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to allow lucky fans to play for them – Pepe’s name was simply spelled wrong.
Witty rival fans on Twitter latched on to the slip-up immediately, rinsing Pepe and Sky Sports for their error.
“Pepe is so s*** that Sky Sports spelled his name wrong,” one wrote.
While a second added: “Not sure where Arsenal found this Pete guy but he’s pretty decent.”
“Well Sky Sports were spot on with the lineup today. Pepe did play like my 56 year old next door neighbour Pete,” a third joked.
While a fourth laughed: “Pepe’s so s*** that massive channels like Sky Sports are disrespecting his name lmfao.”
“Omg PETE nearly scored,” a fifth added.
