Arsenal are set to redouble their efforts to sign Sampdoria duo Dennis Praet and Joachim Andersen, according to Italian outlet Samp News 24.
They report that after Unai Emery saw a 42 million euro (£37.2 million) double swoop turned away, the Gunners are all ready to table a 50 million euro (£44.3 million) offer that meets the Serie A side’s valuation.
Andersen is a Danish international central defender, while Praet is a central midfielder – and it’s clear that Arsenal need improvement in both those areas.
The issue is that they can’t go out and get big-name, big-money upgrades in those roles because they’re not in the Champions League.
That means that slightly riskier, but cheaper swoops for young and upcoming talent is pretty much the only way forward – but many Arsenal fans took to Twitter to express their dismay with the links.
Many hadn’t even heard of the duo and think that no other top sides want them – even though the report says Tottenham are keen on Andersen, an international team-mate of Christian Eriksen.
The Gunners faithful seem to believe more is needed in order to return their club to the pinnacle of English and European football – they’re not impressed with the latest…
They might turn out to be good players but as long as we continue buying these ‘no other big teams want’ players we will always be +20pts behind City/Liverpool.

How good are these lads? I just hope we aren’t bringing In plunks for that amount seen that we can still get good players within the EPL.

Anderson may be good but Praet stats seem pretty poor for a attacking midfielder
