Bournemouth’s Scottish international midfielder Ryan Fraser has been speaking about his future, with just one year remaining on his current contract.
He said: “The likelihood is I will be at Bournemouth for another year. And what will happen, will happen. That is all I can really say about it. No one has really spoken to me about it.”
Arsenal need some improvements in the wide areas and Fraser’s contract situation on the back of an exceptional season understandably makes him an enticing prospect.
So it would be something of a blow for Arsenal if they couldn’t get Fraser over the line and the fact that the player is expecting to remain with the Cherries indicates that’s the way the deal is going.
But the Mirror also report that the Gunners are keen on signing Belgium international Yannick Carrasco to boost their wide options, and perhaps they can’t afford both him and Fraser.
The issue for Unai Emery is that he doesn’t appear to have the budget to get all the improvements he needs – and maybe Fraser’s words hint at that.
