Report: Tottenham, West Ham and Emery-linked playmaker available for bargain £22m

Italian outlet CalcioMercato have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and West Ham United target Suso could leave AC Milan for a bargain £22million this summer.

In a previous report over the weekend, CalcioMercato claimed that all three English clubs as well as Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid were interested in the former Liverpool star. It is believed offers have already been tabled.

Now, the latest report states that contract technical director and Milan legend Paolo Maldini has met for contract talks with Suso’s representatives. But they have broken down, with Suso requesting as much as £103,000 a week.

That has led to Milan planning a way to sell Suso, which would help the club comply with FFP. Despite Suso having a release clause worth £34million, it is believed Milan may be reluctantly willing to accept lower.

It is believed that the Italian giants will at least consider, and could accept offers between £22million and £26.7million for the playmaker. He has scored 23 goals and created 35 in 136 appearances for Milan.

TBR’s view

Suso has been excellent for Milan, and he was hardly given a proper go at Liverpool. Now 25 years of age, his form in the past couple of seasons suggests he has all it takes to be a success at the top end of the Premier League.

For West Ham, Suso would be an enormous coup. Indeed, landing the Spain international would see a bond strike immediately with new signing Pablo Fornals – who has also earned four Spain caps.

It could also suggest that Manuel Lanzini may be about to leave. Spurs need midfielders and more depth to form a proper title challenge, while Arsenal need to replace Manuel Lanzini.
