Arsenal youngster Emile Smith Rowe is attracting widespread interest in a season-long loan deal, according to the Independent.
They report that RB Leipzig, who had the player on loan in the second half of last season, are interested in another deal this term but face competition from Bundesliga rivals Wolfsburg.
But the report also says that a number of Premier League and Championship clubs have expressed an interest in loaning Smith Rowe, with a Spanish outfit also apparently keen.
And Unai Emery will reportedly allow Smith Rowe to leave before the transfer window shuts, but a decision won’t be made until he has fully recovered from the injury that hampered his Leipzig loan.
Smith Rowe is a hugely exciting talent and the fact that the decision has apparently already been made to loan him out for the forthcoming season is perhaps an odd one.
Unai Emery needs to improve his wide options and Arsenal’s young players are perhaps the biggest source of excitement around the club right now.
Smith Rowe has shown he could come in and make a difference around the first team and Emery should be considering keeping him.
But a year of first team football could bring along his development, although it would be galling if he was tearing up the Premier League while Arsenal toil again.
