Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been placed on red alert after Barcelona apparently made Malcom available for transfer this summer.
According to AS, the north London rivals are both still interested in the Brazilian, who has been deemed surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.
Apparently the club want to move either Malcom, Arthur or Arturo Vidal on in order to make room for the re-signing of Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain – two years after he left in a £198 million world record transfer.
Malcom has had a bit of a rough time in Catalonia since his £36.5 million move from Bordeaux (BBC Sport).
The attacker couldn’t build up any momentum in his first season, with Ernesto Valverde using him mainly from the bench.
All in all, he made just 24 appearances and the 22-year-old could now be sacrificed for the club’s reported pursuit of Neymar.
Malcom hasn’t suddenly become a bad player – he has been quite unfortunate at Barca so far.
Ahead of him in the pecking order is Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho, meaning his chances of regular game time were always going to be slim.
He would be a super signing for either Premier League side, although perhaps Tottenham Hotspur already have someone similar in Lucas Moura.
Arsenal have a shoestring budget this summer and would have to do some serious negotiating, but Malcom would be a major upgrade on Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
