Arsenal are reportedly eyeing attacker Hwang Hee-chan from Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners and Premier League rivals Crystal Palace are both keeping an eye on the 23-year-old.
The report explains that he is “likely” to move away from Salzburg in the next summer transfer window, if he can keep up his impressive form of late.
Hwang has been a goal machine for Salzburg so far this season and is attracting widespread interest.
He’s played 11 games across all competitions so far this campaign, scoring seven goals and supplying 10 assists in return.
His phenomenal goalscoring exploits in the Austrian league are impressive without being spectacular due to the division, but part of his success has come in the Champions League to signal his potential.
The forward has played against Genk and Liverpool in the opening two group stages matches of the Champions League, which has seen him prove too hot to handle for even Virgil Van Dijk.
He scored and assisted during a 4-3 defeat at Anfield, as well as scoring and assisting two in a 6-2 home victory over Genk.
Hwang is an upcoming attacker that can play anywhere across the frontline and is thriving in a dangerous Salzburg team, which was shown when he put Van Dijk on the floor with a fake shot before firing into the net.
Hwang is certainly someone to keep an eye out on and it will be intriguing to see how he performs in the rest of the Champions League, especially with a double header against Napoli coming up for Sazlburg.
But Unai Emery’s squad is already stacked with some brilliant options in the final third and there are other areas of the pitch that needs adressing.
Arsenal do already have the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe, Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka in first-team contention.
