AC Milan have made an offer for Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira as they seek to lure him back to Italy after just one season in England, according to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset.
They report that Milan have come in with a two-year loan offer for the Uruguay international, and want the option to buy at the end of it.
Arsenal are perhaps open to the loan offer, but would apparently want the ability to keep Torreira at the end of it, as opposed to Milan having the option to buy him.
The report claims that Arsenal are willing to negotiate over Torreira, which seems a strange stance to take on a player Unai Emery only signed a year ago.
Torreira did not have a perfect first season in English football, but his full-blooded attitude and constant workrate make him ideal for what Emery is trying to and he is one of a handful of Gunners players actually chosen by the Spaniard.
But perhaps Torreira has grown unsettled in north London. Because there is very little to be gained on letting Torreira leave for two seasons on loan, not even getting in a transfer fee with which they could reinvest in the squad.
