Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson is set to be out until November after sustaining a knee injury.
As reported by The London Evening Standard, the teenager is expected to be sidelined for a few weeks and had to pull out of the England U21 squad ahead of games with Slovenia and Austria.
The issue is not feared to be serious, but it is a blow for the Gunners and Nelson nonetheless.
Nelson has enjoyed a bright start to the new season following a show of faith by manager Unai Emery.
Last term he was loaned out to Hoffenheim for some much needed minutes, and the experience appears to have done him good.
In 2019/20 Nelson has already made six appearances in all competitions and is fighting it out with Nicolas Pepe and fellow youngster Bukayo Saka for a place in the starting XI.
It looks as though Nelson won’t be out of the picture for too long, but the lay-off will be frustrating for the 19-year-old, especially with new signing Gabriel Martinelli impressing.
The Brazilian has helped himself to four goals for the club already, and the form of Saka could also count against him.
Thankfully Nelson has caught the eye on several occasions this season and Emery clearly rates the player.
