Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos could be made available on loan this summer, according to a report by Spanish outlet COPE.
They report that Madrid will not sell the midfielder who has two goals at the Under 21 European Championship as Spain have qualified for the semi-finals.
But the report names the north London rivals as the two most likely clubs to sign him and Real are open to loaning him out because they won’t let him leave permanently.
Zinedine Zidane will apparently not put Ceballos at the forefront of his plans for the coming season and would be willing to let him leave for a season to get gametime.
Neither Arsenal or Tottenham will be keen to break the bank but both need to improve their squads in the transfer market – and Ceballos would be ideal.
He is tearing up the Euros and underlining his status as one of the top young midfielders in Europe – but he needs more games in order to continue his development.
It might not be ideal to develop a player for another club but Arsenal showed they were willing to bring a midfielder in on a short term loan by bringing in Denis Suarez in January from Barcelona – and their budget is tight.
Tottenham may be able to spend more, but Daniel Levy would likely love to have an extra quality body in midfield at no transfer fee.
