Darren Bent has singled out Matteo Guendouzi for special praise following his solid start to the new season with Arsenal.
The 20-year-old has been earning rave reviews for his performances in the Arsenal team so far this season following his switch to the north London club from Lorient last summer.
Guendouzi has started all four of Arsenal’s Premier League games so far this season and he has notched up one assist for his team-mates in those appearances.
He has been catching the eye with some mature performances for the Gunners as he looks to establish himself as a regular in Unai Emery’s first team.
Now, former England star Bent has talked up the 20-year-old following his strong start to the season with the Gunners.
Speaking in an interview quoted by the Daily Star, Bent said: “He’s playing like he’s someone who’s played for Arsenal for years.
“It’s scary that he’s only 20, he could be in the Arsenal midfield for the next 10 years, he’s really good in that role.
“Even when he gives the ball away, he wants the ball all the time.
“He never shies away from that and that is a trait in a midfielder that you can’t teach, you can’t teach that.”
Arsenal are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table, after having taken seven points from their first four games.
The north London side, who are aiming to try and break back into the top four this season, will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Watford away from home on Sunday 15 September.
