Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has earmarked Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos as a potential target to strengthen the squad at the end of the season.
Ceballos joined the Gunners on a season-long loan from Real Madrid this summer but the north London side were not able to include the option to buy.
He has been in-and-out of the starting XI under manager Unai Emery this term and he has still made a positive impression while contributing one goal and two assists.
According to Marca, Guardiola has urged the Citizens to target a move for Ceballos next summer when David Silva will leave the club on a free transfer.
The same publication claims that Los Blancos value the midfielder at around £50m and the Premier League holders may open negotiations for the Spaniard when the campaign concludes.
Ceballos has played in both the central midfield and attacking midfield positions this term but he has mostly impressed with his distribution from the former of those roles.
