AC Milan have appointed club legend Paolo Maldini as their new technical director.
The former legendary centre-back will work closely at San Siro alongside Zvonimir Boban, the club’s new chief football officer.
Maldini’s appointment has been met with delight by Milan’s hierarchy, with chief executive Ivan Gazidis – formerly of Arsenal – saying: ‘Paolo embodies that quality and those values that are the building blocks of our club.

Maldini’s move back to his former club will be a very popular choice with the fans, having played 647 games, winning seven Serie A titles and five Champions Leagues.
