Arsenal’s former forward Nicklas Bendtner is smashing Fantasy Football this season – and is 64th in the FPL table.
The Dane spent nine seasons with the Gunners, with loan and injury spells limiting him to 171 appearances in that time.
While he did score 45 goals, the 33-year-old earned a following of fans that called him “Lord Bendtner” for his antics on and off the pitch.
But Bendtner, now playing for Danish side Tarnby’s masters team and appearing on sports channel TV2, has been testing out his Premier League knowledge with a lot of success.
The ex-Gunners player is signed up to the top flight’s Fantasy Premier League, using the nickname “Draftlord” in reference to his following.
And his team selections put the 33-year-old 64th in all of the near 8million entrants before Manchester City and Manchester United’s wins.
The big winners from his team for Gameweek 19 have been West Ham forward Michail Antonio and Citizens centre-back John Stones.
David Moyes’ star man scored the winning goals against Burnley and West Brom this week, earning him 18 points for Bendtner.
While Pep Guardiola’s revived defender grabbed a brace in the 4-0 win over Crystal Palace and kept another clean sheet against Aston Villa for 27 points.
Playing the Bench Boost feature allowed the two Premier League players to increase the Dane’s weekly total to 122 points.
Dropping to 114th in the overall league, he still has Mohamed Salah to play in Liverpool’s fixture against the Clarets tonight.
The forward is doing even better in Norway too, sitting ninth in the whole country of entrants.
Bendtner arrived at Arsenal’s academy in 2004 from Denmark, making his senior debut in the following October.
He was tipped for greatness by Arsene Wenger but a fallout with Emmanuel Adebayor during the 2008 north London derby against Tottenham and injuries condemned him.
He left for Wolfsburg in 2014 before moving to Championship side Nottingham Forest two years later.
While he has found success in Fantasy Football, Bendtner has not always been successful when gambling – and it once cost him £400,000 in 90 minutes during a casino splurge.
