Vieira enjoyed a hugely successful spell at the Gunners between 1996 and 2005 and is recognised as one of the Premier League greatest imports, winning three league titles and three FA Cups at the club.
The Frenchman was also known for his fierce rivalry with United skipper Roy Keane and would often step up to the plate whenever facing the Red Devils and the Irishman.
Nice owner and Manchester United fan Jim Ratcliffe has revealed that he ‘hated’ Patrick Vieira
Ratcliffe labelled former Arsenal midfielder as a ‘b*****d’ during his playing days at Highbury
Ratcliffe, who bought Nice earlier this year in a £88.7million takeover, has labelled his club’s manager as a ‘b*****d’ after recalling his performances against his beloved Red Devils over 15 years ago.
The British billionaire praised Vieira’s ability as a coach and joked that he ‘has to be nice to him’.
‘I like Patrick because he’s interested in young people and he’s a very good young coach. I’ve met him twice before – I hated him!’ Ratcliffe told L’Equipe.
‘At Arsenal, he had his duels against Manchester United with Roy Keane… He really was a b*****d, and now I have to be nice to him.’

Ratcliffe, who is also the chairman and chief executive officer of the Ineos, hopes that Nice can secure a place in the Champions League in the coming years.
‘Nice has a great history, it’s a very old, popular club, and it’s a great place to bring very good kids,’ he added.
‘We have a new stadium, a fantastic training centre, the French championship is of high quality and produces the best players in the world. There is the opportunity to play the Champions League while in the Premier League, you already have six clubs for four places.’
