‘Might not be a great idea’: Loads of Arsenal fans absolutely fuming over official club tweet

Arsenal have confirmed their pre-season programme for the coming months on the club’s official Twitter account.

The summer schedule will take in a varied mix of opponents; Boreham Wood on July 6, Colorado Rapids ten days later, Bayern Munich on July 18 and Fiorentina two days later.

Then Real Madrid on July 24, before the Emirates Cup meeting with Lyon at home on July 28th and a meeting with Angers on 31st, to round off July.

The final pre-season engagement is in the Joan Gamper Trophy against Barcelona on August 4, before their first game of the season away against Newcastle on Sunday 11 August.

For some clubs, the confirmation may have got the fans even more excited for the new season, but Gunners supporters are seething with their club over their lack of transfer activity right now.

They are either not bothered by the pre-season schedule, think it’s too long and gruelling or just think playing the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona will savage confidence before the season starts.

There’s anger there among the fans, even in response to a fairly innocuous tweet about pre-season fixtures…
