Michael Owen is tipping Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur to play out a scoring draw at The Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

Both clubs will be hoping to return to winning ways in the north London derby at The Emirates following defeats last weekend.

Arsenal suffered a 3-1 loss to Premier League leaders Liverpool FC despite Lucas Torreira’s consolation goal.

Liverpool FC’s triumph brought to an end Arsenal’s perfect start to the Premier League season following their victories over Newcastle United and Burnley.

Tottenham suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat by Newcastle United at their new stadium last weekend to lose ground on the top four.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have only collected four points from their opening three games following a 2-2 draw at defending champions Manchester City earlier this month.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Arsenal and Tottenham to play out a stalemate at The Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

“Spurs had almost 80 per cent of the possession against Newcastle on Sunday but created very little, although they look sure to have their chances against an Arsenal side who were no match for Liverpool at Anfield at the weekend when they were readily brushed aside,” Owen told BetVictor.

“The Gunners are now without a win in their last 23 away games against the ‘big six’ sides and their defensive frailties have still not been addressed.

“Unai Emery’s side are a different proposition at the Emirates, however, and I believe we will see an open, entertaining north London derby with nothing between the teams.”

Arsenal haven’t lost to Tottenham at The Emirates since 2010 despite their mixed performances in the Premier League over the past decade.

Tottenham lost 2-0 to Liverpool FC in the Champions League final in Madrid last season.

Spurs have qualified for the Champions League by virtue of a top-four finish in the last four campaigns.

Arsenal, on the other hand, have missed out on a top-four finish in the last three seasons.
