The 26-year-old is thought to be rated at around £25million and has been tipped for a move to England in the past.
The midfielder is said to be in close contact with a club, however Marseille sporting director Pablo Longoria remained tight-lipped on the rumours.
Morgan Sanson has been linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs this January
‘It’s a rumour that comes up often,’ said Longoria. ‘It’s normal because Morgan is a very good player.
‘But we have to wait until there’s something more concrete. For now, they are only rumours and I don’t want to get into this game.’
Sanson has been a key figure under Andre Villas-Boas, and helped them to a second place finish in Ligue 1 last season.
West Ham, Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham, Burnley, and Wolves have all been linked in the past
However, Marseille are struggling for the same form in the current campaign, and Sanson has been out of action with a muscle injury since mid-December. However he finally made his return to action this weekend against Nimes.
A number of clubs announced their interest over the summer, but a move never materialised.
He was linked with West Ham for a long time, but Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham, Burnley, and Wolves have all considered the former France U21 international in the past as well.
Sanson has been a key part of Andre Villas-Boas’ side, but has missed playing time this season
Many clubs have been feeling the financial strain, and at the same time Marseille have had Financial Fair Play troubles to deal with, so may be looking to restructure the squad.
Burnley made an initial move in the last transfer window, but they deemed the valuation to be too high and Sanson was not said to be overly keen on the move.
