Lucas Torreira isn’t actively pursuing a move away from Arsenal this summer, according to a report in England.
The Daily Telegraph, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Uruguay international isn’t seeking a return to Serie A this summer despite reported interest from San Siro outfit AC Milan.
The same article states that his former Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo is eager to reunite with the 23-year-old at the seven-time European champions this summer.
According to the same story, Torreira is happy to remain in the English capital with Arsenal despite reports to the contrary suggesting the defensive midfielder is feeling homesick at The Emirates.
The Daily Telegraph go on to claim that Arsenal could be tempting into selling Torreira if AC Milan make an offer that proves too good to turn down.
Arsenal signed Torreira in a £26m deal from Sampdoria in the 2018 summer transfer window ahead of the World Cup in Russia.
The South American star proved a big hit at Arsenal thanks to his no-nonsense performances in the middle of the park in Emery’s team.
The Gunners haven’t made any signings in the summer transfer window so far despite Emery’s eagerness to improve his squad following a mixed first season in charge of Arsenal.
Emery replaced Arsene Wenger in May 2018.
