Serge Gnabry will have enjoyed his return to north London as the Bayern Munich star put Tottenham Hotspur to the sword with four goals in a 7-2 win – and Arsenal fans want him back at The Emirates.
The 24-year-old attacker was in explosive form for Bayern on Tuesday night as the German champions blew Tottenham away with the speed of their attack, and their clinical finishing. Spurs had their chances, but the defence could not cope.
Gnabry left Arsenal in the summer of 2016 to join Werder Bremen, before moving to Bayern and the Germany international has since shone with Niko Kovac’s side. He has scored 18 goals and laid on 12 assists in 50 Bayern outings, before Tuesday night.
He scored four goals against Spurs on his return to north London, with Serge Aurier failing to cope with Gnabry. His electrifying speed and emphatic, powerful finishing was too much for Spurs as Bayern smashed seven goals past Hugo Lloris.
Gnabry only ever managed 18 senior appearances at Arsenal. A failed loan spell at West Brom, which saw Tony Pulis opt to overlook Gnabry, saw Arsene Wenger decide to offload the speed machine to Werder Bremen,.
Arsenal fans are deeply regretting that decision, and have urged their club to bring the Germany cap back to north London – but this time to re-sign for Arsenal. Some believe he could be worth a whopping £80million, though.
