Liverpool will be top seeds in next season’s Champions League group stage
Liverpool will be one of the top seeds for next season’s Champions League group stage after victory over Tottenham in the final on Saturday.
This is because UEFA grants a place in pot one to the winner of Europe’s elite competition and the winner of the Europa League.
The Reds and Chelsea, who beat Arsenal in the Europa League final, will be alongside the league champions from the top six countries according to UEFA.

They are Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and FC Zenit.
Tottenham will be in pot 2 alongside the likes of Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Shakthar Donetsk with Ajax and Porto likely to join them via the qualifying rounds.
Celtic will likely be in pot three if they make it through qualifying and they will be joined by Benfica, Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen, FC Salzburg, Valencia and Inter Milan with Dynamo Kyiv expected to qualify also.
Pot four will include Lille, Atalanta, RB Leipzig, Galatasaray, Genk, Lokomotiv Moscow and then FC Copenhagen and Dinamo Zagreb are likely to make it via the qualifiyng stages.
A group of death for Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City could see them face Real Madrid, Inter Milan and RB Leipzig.
