The Reds are looking to improve their squad following a stunning season that saw them win the Champions League, as well as push Manchester City all the way in the Premier League title race.
Jurgen Klopp is not expected to splash out this summer, with reports suggesting he’ll only look to replace any outgoing players.
But according to Bleacher Report, Liverpool have money to spend and Klopp is willing to use his budget if a good deal becomes available.
And the report has cited Aubameyang as a potential target.
The Arsenal star scored 31 times for the Gunners last season and although he seems settled in north London, he’d likely be tempted by the prospect of Champions League football.
Aubameyang worked with Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and Bleacher Report claim the German would prefer to bring in players he knows.
And should the Gabon international become available, Liverpool could look to strike a deal.
The transfer revelation comes amid news that:
“I really like these two guys.”
Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
Aubameyang has been linked with a shock £70m move to Manchester United this week.
And Liverpool could rival them if Arsenal consider selling.
Klopp is in the market for more options up top following the release of Daniel Sturridge.
Champions League hero Divock Origi is expected to stay but Liverpool are still in need of competition for Roberto Firmino.
Aubameyang beat Liverpool stars Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah to the golden boot last season and he admits he’s a huge fan of both players.
“It meant a lot to win the Golden Boot,” he said.
“I am really happy and proud of it, especially to share the trophy with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.
“I really like these two guys. We are representing Africa so it is a good sign for the continent.”
