The issue is not believed to be serious, and the Evening Standard report he will likely be out until November. It will come as a big frustration for Nelson who has caught the eye for the Gunners this year.

The ace has the backing of manager Unai Emery to contribute for the first-team in 2019/20, after spending last season on loan at Hoffenheim.

He has already made six appearances for the club, and fans have been encouraged by the youngster’s start.

But he will now be forced to watch on from the sidelines, with the likes of Bukayo Saka and new signing Gabriel Martinelli set to fight it out for game time.
