Joe Cole is tipping Chelsea FC to finish in the top four this season – and ahead of both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues have made something of a mixed start to the new campaign under new boss Frank Lampard and they currently find themselves in seventh place in the Premier League table.

Chelsea FC have failed to win back to back games in the Premier League this season but they will be hoping to put that right when they travel to Southampton on Sunday.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have also been struggling to find consistent form, with the Gunners currently in fourth place in the table and just a point ahead of Chelsea FC.

The Gunners are aiming to break back into the top four this season after having finished fifth last season.

Former Chelsea FC attacker Cole feels that the Blues are looking good for a top-four finish – and that they are likely to end up above both Arsenal and Tottenham this season.

Asked to predict where the Blues will finish, Cole told BT Sport on Wednesday night: “After 10 games now I’m looking at it… top six is acceptable,

“But I’m looking at it and thinking I can’t see Tottenham or Arsenal finishing above Chelsea. I think maybe the top four is there for them.

“With Frank, I don’t think it was a conscience effort to come in and play these young players straight away.

“I think he’s had a lot of his squad and because of the transfer ban there was more and more of them training and he’s looking at it and thinking ‘well these guys are producing for me, they’re doing the business in pre-season’.

“I think it’s just happened that way organically. He’s doing well right now.”

Chelsea FC will travel to Southampton on Sunday on the back of their 2-1 victory over Lille in the Champions League in France on Wednesday night.
