Wilshere, 27, suffered an injury-hit first campaign at the London Stadium and has seen his fitness criticised after a series of problems blighted long spells of his career.
But with plans to play on ‘for as long as possible’, a new behind-the-scenes documentary to be released next week will provide further insight into his toil.

Wilshere has suffered huge injury problems and gives insight into ongoing issues in his career
‘People don’t realise,’ Wilshere says in the doc. ‘They see you get injured and they say “he’s always injured, he’s injury-prone, he’s never going to be fit” but they don’t realise what goes on behind closed doors.’
The documentary is produced by Athlete’s Stance, a company who promise to bring ‘stories straight from the athletes’. It will be released on Sportsmail on Tuesday.
Wilshere signed a three-year contract with West Ham last summer and despite problems with ankle injuries last season – a regular occurrence in his career – his eyes are not on the end of his time in football just yet.

‘You should never give up,’ Wilshere continues. ‘I want to play for as long as possible.
‘I do genuinely love football: it’s my life, it’s my kids’ life, it’s my family’s life, we’re a football family.
‘My goal is to get back in the team and win as many games as possible. At the moment that is all I’m focused on.’
