‘Incredible signing’, ‘We are so finished’: Many Arsenal fans despair as Tottenham confirm £65m transfer
Arsenal fans’ joy over the signing of Gabriel Martinelli was short-lived, with Tottenham Hotspur officially announcing the capture of Tanguy Ndombele just hours later.
The Gunners made their first signing of the summer in the form of the Brazilian teenager, who cost in the region of £6 million from Ituano (The Telegraph).

The highly rated attacker is capable of playing on either flank, or through the middle as a striker.
Martinelli will apparently be sent to the club’s academy in order to continue his development rather than be thrust straight into the first-team.
He is very much one for the future, and many Gunners fans were delighted that their club were finally able to announce someone.

That delight, though, has been extinguished for many, with bitter rivals Spurs confirming the signing of midfielder Ndombele from Lyon for a club-record fee of £65 million (Sky Sports).
Arsenal fans react
Lots of Arsenal fans online were unable to fully enjoy their own club’s business thanks to Spurs’ mega-money signing.
Ndombele is a massive coup for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, and many Gooners know it:
Despite reaching the ECL Pochetinno knew that Spurs looked stale last season.
He demanded that Levy back him in the transfer market if he were to remain at the club
£65 million for NDombele isa statement of intent.
We are waiting for AFC’s statement of intent. pic.twitter.com/IhfUBlXwmd— Martin Wengrow (@MartinWengrow) 2 July 2019
How can Spurs who spent £500m over budget on their stadium, afford to spent £65m on Ndombele?
Yet we have to offer our whole fund to Zaha?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Not sure what’s more laughable, being and debt yet still spending or having an owner that doesn’t care! #KROENKEOUT #AFC

I don’t even envy the signing of Ndombele because he’s a player I’d want at AFC, I envy the signing because Spurs are capable of seeing where they need to strengthen & doing so with a top player, we don’t do that. We have been adopting a small club mentality at AFC for years now.
