‘Heck of a signing’, ‘Banter era’: Some Arsenal fans rage as rivals complete £24m transfer

The 2018/19 campaign ended in miserable fashion for Arsenal. Unai Emery’s side were thumped 4-1 by Chelsea in the Europa League Final.

A dreadful night in Baku means that the Gunners will face another season without Champions League football.

The absence from European football’s elite tournament means that Emery’s budget for the new campaign will be considerably lower.

With transfer news not really offering anything of intrigue just yet, Arsenal supporters have been casting an envious eye across London to West Ham.

The Hammers announced on their official website today the signing of Villarreal attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals for £24 million.

It would appear that some Arsenal supporters would have fancied the Spaniard being signing by Emery.

The Gunners could perhaps do with a bit creativity in the final third and they clearly feel that Fornals could have been an asset to their squad.

Fornals is only 23 and he would have fit nicely in with the current Arsenal squad. Emery’s loss is Manuel Pellegrini’s gain, however.

West Ham have got their summer off to a flyer and Arsenal fans clearly feel as though they are already behind other clubs.

We rounded up exactly what they had to say about the Fornals deal.
