Gary Neville reserved praise for Liverpool FC after their impressive 3-1 win over Arsenal at Anfield on Saturday evening.
The Reds and the Gunners were the only two teams in the Premier League to have won their opening two games of the campaign heading into the clash on Merseyside.
Liverpool FC took the lead in the 41st minute when Joel Matip headed home from a corner to give Jurgen Klopp’s men the advantage heading into the break.
The Merseyside outfit then made it 2-0 when Mohamed Salah converted his penalty in the 49th minute following a foul by David Luiz.
And Salah made it 3-0 to the hosts when he finished off a brilliant attack in the 58th minute.
Substitute Lucas Torreira netted a consolation goal in the 85th minute but Liverpool FC held out for the three points.
Speaking during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game after Salah’s second goal of the afternoon, former Manchester United star Neville said: “That is absolutely breathtaking.
“This is just a really good team. It’s painful to watch for me personally, but I have to say this is a really good team.
“The passing, the movement, the skill, the speed… It’s a brilliant goal. Yes, I could talk about David Luiz’s defending but what a goal.”
On Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, Neville added: “Liverpool have signed three £30m strikers and turned them into £150m strikers – every single one of them are outstanding. They were not that good – and now you watch them…”
Liverpool FC are now three points clear at the top of the Premier League table as they aim to mount a serious title challenge this term.
The Merseyside outfit will return to Premier League action next Saturday evening when they take on Burnley away from home.
The Reds lifted the Uefa Super Cup earlier this month after a victory on penalties over Chelsea FC.
