– Aston Villa are close to taking their transfer tally to 10 this summer with a double swoop on the cards
Fernandes speaks out
Bruno Fernandes has spoken out regarding a move to Manchester United.
The Sporting Lisbon is expected to join the Old Trafford outfit this summer – but Fernandes has played down the transfer talk this week.
“The president decides that, not me,” he said.
“I don’t care about the market, I’ve talked about this many times. The only thing I can do now is that I need to catch the plane so I don’t miss it.
“Will this be the last match for Sporting? I don’t know, it’s the coach who decides. I told you I liked to play in England, but that’s not what interests me.
“It may be when the club decides.”
Emery confirms Ceballos interest
Arsenal boss Unai Emery has admitted the Gunners are working on a deal for Dani Ceballos.
The Real Madrid outcast will be shipped out on loan this term – and it looks like Arsenal is his next destination.
“We were speaking about the possibility to sign one player on loan and we have different names,” Emery said.
“The club was working on that. Ceballos is a very good player, I know him from Betis at the beginning and also at Real Madrid.”
Aston Villa deals
Aston Villa are set to wrap up an £8m deal to sign Egypt winger Mahmoud Trezeguet.
The 23-year-old’s move from Turkish outfit Kasimpasa has been agreed and final terms are all but complete.
Villa boss Dean Smith flew out to Egypt to personally run the rule over Trezeguet and set the wheels in motion.
He’ll be Villa’s ninth signing in a hectic summer of spending with Manchester City’s Douglas Luiz set to follow for £15m in the next few days.
Bale urged to join Klopp
Liverpool hero Paul Ince thinks Gareth Bale should swap Madrid for Merseyside.
The Welshman is close to leaving the Spanish capital after falling out of favour with Zinedine Zidane.
“For me, if Liverpool could afford him, he should go to Liverpool,” Ince told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“If you look at the front three, they have played all summer so how much rest are they going to get before the season starts? Bale can play on the right, he can play left and he can play central. They have got Origi and Shaqiri but are they good enough?
“It can’t be about money for Bale, he needs to go to a team who can win things – the European champions, the team that finished second in the Premier League.”
Alderweireld to Man Utd?
Manchester United have been told to forget about Harry Maguire and swoop for Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld by ex-Wales star Dean Saunders.
“It’s got ridiculous now, hasn’t it? £80m for Harry Maguire,” Saunders ranted on talkSPORT.
“It’s not his fault, but where is it going to stop?
“Would you take Toby Alderweireld for £25m or Harry Maguire for £80m?
“You can’t get your money back on Alderweireld, he’s 30, but he’s probably a better player right now.
“As a striker, I’d be thinking to myself, ‘If I can get Maguire out in the channels and get him isolated, he’s not mobile’.”
