‘I think the manager did amazing. He’s doing amazing for this club’, he said afterwards.
‘Speculation, talk about things every day, I think now is the moment to talk about the title.
‘I think it was a great year. Some ups and downs. But we improved a lot. Learned a lot. And finished very well.
‘Sarri believed in my game, great guy, great person, great coach.’
Luiz has paid tribute to the ‘amazing’ efforts of Blues boss Maurizio Sarri in his first year
Sportsmail reported earlier on Wednesday that Juventus expect to appoint Sarri as the replacement for Massimiliano Allegri.
Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck was spotted meeting with Juve counterpart Andrea Agnelli in the club’s team hotel before the game.
Agnelli had been in Baku on UEFA business but Italian outlet Tuttosport claimed that the pair also met to discuss Sarri’s future. They also claim that Sarri met with Agnelli.
The Blues boss is aware of Juve’s offer and is known to be tempted by the opportunity to work in Turin.
And the Serie A club are increasingly confident of luring Sarri back to Italy to the point where they have informed players to expect the 60-year-old to be in charge next term.
