Marcos Alonso has reportedly accepted an offer to join Atletico Madrid after being left on the bench for the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
And according to Marca, Maurizio Sarri’s decision to overlook the 28-year-old has led the defender to accept a stalled offer from Los Rojiblancos.

Alonso had reportedly been keen to return to the Spanish capital, having also played for Atleti’s fierce rivals Real Madrid.
He was first contacted two months ago but his contract demands tempered hopes of an agreement, but the Europa League final appears to have pushed Alonso out the door.
An agreement will come as a welcome relief for Diego Simeone who was facing the task of replacing two left-backs this summer.
World Cup winner Lucas Hernandez confirmed a £68million move to Bayern Munich in March, while former Chelsea full-back Filipe Luis will depart on a free transfer.
They join several others departing the Wanda Metropolitano including captain Diego Godin and Antoine Griezmann.
