Chelsea hero Ashley Cole was rinsed on Twitter as he “butchered” the Europa League draw.
The former Blues defender stuggled to pronounce teams such as Espanyol and Stade Rennais during the live draw.
In footage from the draw, the 38-year-old can be seen drawing the third pot.
And the Englishman picks out La Liga side Espanyol – but his attemt does not quite hit the mark.
After a brief pause, Cole says: “Espana.”
And fans on social media took the chance to have a dig at the 38-year-old.
“Ashley Cole trying to pronounce the club names, lol,” one viewer said.
Another added: “It turns out Ashley Cole can’t read.”
While a third held nothing back.
“Ashley Cole has made a right c*** of this,” they said.
And a fourth added: “Ashley COle was defeated by the word ‘Espanyol’.”
With another saying: “Ashley Cole is making this draw so much more enjoyable by seemingly being on a mission to butcher the name of every club he reads out .”
Other viewers could not contain their laughter at the Chelsea legend’s pronunciation attempts.
“Ashley Cole trying to read the names is killing me,” they added.
While a sixth was in stiches, saying: “Ashley Cole had me crying with those pronunciations.
And another fan simply added: “He’s had a shocker.”
