The Spaniard watched on as his former team-mate scored twice in the 4-1 win over Arsenal in the Europa League final.
And with Hazard on the brink of joining Real Madrid in a £115million transfer, Fabregas was among the pundits to reflect on the Belgian’s contribution to the Blues.

The Belgian winger scored a brace in what is likely to be his final game for the club
‘I cannot say he will be the best or important player in Chelsea’s history. But talent wise, definitely, for sure he’s the most talented player that Chelsea have ever had’, the Monaco midfielder told BT Sport.
‘I played with him for five years. When I first joined Chelsea I said he’s our Messi. He proved me right.
‘Unfortunately I don’t think Chelsea at this moment can give Eden what he deserves, in terms of potentially winning everything and maybe the Ballon d’Or.
‘At Chelsea there is a ceiling for him, and he can go so much higher at a club like Real Madrid.’
Hazard is the most talented player in Chelsea history, according to his former team-mate
Fabregas was joined in the BT Sport studio by Eidur Gudjohnsen and Martin Keown, who both weighed in with their verdicts on Hazard.
‘I’d hate to play against him,’ former Chelsea star Gudjohnsen. ‘His acceleration with the ball is just absolute top level.
‘When he turns and faces defenders, would you have like to face him? He’s like a modern Zola at Chelsea. Talent wise he has so much technique and flair.
Keown added: ‘We don’t give Maurizio Sarri enough credit, but he’s made him happy. He’s really comfortable now in a Chelsea shirt. At a time he’s ready to leave he’s playing his best football.
‘He has to go with the blessing of everyone at Chelsea. That low centre of gravity, zippiness to his play that you rarely see. He’s grown as a player. He deserves really to go out and play for Real Madrid.’
