The Carabao Cup third round draw is almost upon us with the majority of sides playing their matches this evening with tomorrow’s games confusing the second round ties.
A thrilling night of action saw the likes of Aston Villa and West Ham progress while Norwich and Crystal Palace were dumped out.
Premier League outfit Norwich suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Crawley Town while the Eagles lost on penalties to Colchester.
Leeds were taken to penalties against Stoke as Jack Butland netted the winning spot-kick for the Potters.
It was straight forward victories for Aston Villa and the Hammers as both claret and blue sides secured 5-0 and 2-0 victories.
Watford also progressed with a 3-0 win over Coventry while Sheffield United edged a 2-0 victory against Blackburn Rovers.
They’ll all be in the hat for tomorrow’s draw along with the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham and Wolves all entering the competition at the third round.
