Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman cannot understand why Gunners hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang entered the pitch during last night’s 4-0 Europa League stroll against Standard Liege.
A rotated Gunners side had the job done in the first half, with deputy striker Gabriel Martinelli bagging twice, but Aubameyang came off the bench with 11 minutes remaining, replacing Reiss Nelson.
It could have been a rare night off for the Gabonese hitman but Unai Emery still gave him a brief run out despite the fact the scoring was long since complete and it was job done.
Seaman asked his Twitter followers why Aubameyang was introduced, risking an injury in a game which was dead and buried.
Can anyone tell me why @Aubameyang7 in on?????!!!!!!!!!!!

TBR’s View – Seaman has a point, an Aubameyang injury could have spoiled the night for Arsenal
It was a fantastic night for Arsenal; another occasion on which their exciting young players got a chance to shine and their returning defenders got another run out.
Aubameyang has been dragging the team through matches at times this season but Unai Emery spotted a rare opportunity to rest him.
But then decided, for some reason, to throw him on. If he had got injured, it would have left an extremely sour taste in the mouth.
Jesse Lingard pulled up for Manchester United earlier on Thursday night. That will annoy Ole Gunnar Solskjaer enough and his introduction was borne out of necessity, chasing a goal.
Bringing Aubameyang on for a little over ten minutes made no real sense.
