Unai Emery is in the market for a winger this summer and has set his sights on securing the services of the widely coveted Zaha.
The Ivory Coast wideman told the Eagles that he wants to leave the club this summer in search of European football, but so far, Arsenal have fallen well short of Palace’s valuation.
Arsenal have reportedly been offered Malcom from Barcelona as they seek to sign a winger
But the Gunners primary target remains Wilfried Zaha and they will go all out to sign him
But according to the Mirror, Barcelona have attempted to steal Emery’s attentions by offering him former Bordeaux winger Malcom.
The Brazilian has struggled to make an impact at the Nou Camp following his £36.5m move from Ligue 1 last summer.
The 22-year-old has made just 15 appearances in La Liga, scoring only the once – a far cry from his 12 goal-haul in France the season before.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Malcom in the past.
Unai Emery is in the market for a winger, a left back and a central defender this summer
Last summer, they and Tottenham were thought to be chasing Bordeaux’s standout star, while in January, it was reported that the Gunners failed in a deadline day loan bid for Malcom due to Barca’s high loan fee demands.
The Gunners though remain focused on securing primary target Zaha.
In a bid to increase their miserly opening offer of £40m, which was outright rejected by Palace, club chiefs have pleaded with owner Stan Kroenke to release more funds.
Emery is also trying to sign Celtic left back Kieran Tierney and a central defender.
