The Spaniard decided to bring the midfielder in on loan from Barcelona in the January window
The report suggests Mislintat wanted Emery to give chances to a few of the young players emerging from Arsenal’s academy instead.
Alternative homegrown options to Suarez included Joe Willock and Bukayo Saka.
The signing of Suarez did not work out for Arsenal, as he struggled to make a significant impact in the second half of last season.
He made just six appearances and in that time did not provide a single goal or assist for Arsenal.

Suarez would be sent back to Barcelona early due to injury issues and went on to make a permanent move to Celta Vigo this summer.
Mislintat was responsible for the arrivals of the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi before he left Arsenal.
He has since moved on to become the director of football at German club Stuttgart.
