First summer signing?
Arsenal are set to seal their first signing of the summer transfer window.
Saint-Etienne central defender William Saliba is on the brink of completing a move to the Emirates Stadium for £22m (€25m), according to ESPN.
The two clubs are reportedly close to finalising a transfer agreement for the 18-year-old.
Arsenal have agreed to loan Saliba back for the upcoming season.
Zaha wants move?
Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha wants to join Arsenal, according to David Ornstein.
Zaha is eager to leave Selhurst Park but the Gunners cannot afford to sign him due to the Eagles’ £80m asking price.
Arsenal have a limited budget of £45m thanks to their failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Emirates Stadium bosses were optimistic of signing Zaha had they avoided another season in the Europa league.
Man Utd approach?
Arsenal have approach Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, according to Duncan Castles.
“I know that [Arsenal] have a longstanding interest in Eric Bailly and have approached him to find out if he’d be interested in moving to Arsenal,” he said on The Transfer Window Podcast.
“But the question mark in that deal has been: would they have the money to give Manchester United back what they paid to sign him three years ago?
“That essentially came down to whether they qualified for the Champions League or not, and when they didn’t, it doesn’t look like they’re gonna have the resources to get Bailly out.
“And Bailly himself has been told that Solskjaer doesn’t want to sell him.”
