Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli’s girlfriend has shown her support for the star as his man of the match performance saw his team run rampant.
The 18-year-old Brazilian scored twice in three first-half minutes and got an assist as the Gunners thrashed Standard Liège 4-0 in their Europa League group-stage clash.
Martinelli’s girlfriend Rachel Akemy was cheering him on as he arrived on the world stage.
This week, the Brazilian beauty, 18, shared a picture of the couple together, with Gabriel wearing his Arsenal training top and her wearing a matching red t-shirt.
She captioned the cute snap: “Thank you for always being by my side, I love you so much.”
Since the teen star joined Arsenal in the summer, Rachel has shared a number of pictures of herself supporting the striker.
In one picture from the north London derby with Tottenham Hotspur, Rachel shared a picture of herself at the Emirates Stadium wearing an Arsenal shirt with Martinelli’s name on the back.
She also posted a snap of the two at London’s Tower Bridge, showing how she was getting into the spirit of her new home.
Rachel and Gabriel have appeared in couple snaps since last April when the winger still played for Brazilian side Ituano.
Last season, she wrote a sweet tribute to Gabriel next to a picture of him in his Ituano kit.
“Congratulations my love, my warrior, may God continue to bless and enlighten you always, this is one of many achievements to come, I will always be by your side.”
If Martinelli’s performance on Thursday night is a sign of things to come, Arsenal fans could be seeing a lot more of Rachel.
He struck twice, once in the 13th minute and then again in the 16th, before setting up Dani Ceballos for the fourth in the second half after Joe Willock made it 3-0 before half time.
Arsenal fans trolled Tottenham during the demolition, a day after Spurs were thrashed 7-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League at home.
It comes after Martinelli scored twice against Nottingham Forest last month in the Carabao Cup.
Despite that, Arsenal coach Unai Emery is yet to give Gabriel a Premier League start and has insisted that he is not suited to playing as an out-and-out striker.
Gabriel also had his first international call up after Brazil coach Tite put him in the preparatory training for the 2019 Copa América in May.
