The Gunners are looking to sign the 21-year-old to boost their options on the flanks ahead of next season.
Claude-Maurice operated primarily on the left wing for the French side last term.
And he caught Arsenal boss Unai Emery’s attention by scoring 14 goals and supplying four assists in Ligue 2.
Lorient recently rejected the Premier League outfit’s second offer, which was believed to be worth over £14m.
But according to Get French Football News, the Gunners will now launch a third bid this weekend.
The report states that Claude-Maurice has agreed provisional terms with the Gunners.
And a third offer, which will meet the asking price of almost £18m, is imminent from the North London side.
Arsenal signed Matteo Guendouzi from Lorient last summer, while Laurent Koscielny arrived from the same club in 2010.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol revealed, however, that there are 10 other competing for the France U-20 ace’s signature.
“Alexis Claude-Maurice wants to move to Arsenal but ten other clubs are trying to sign him this summer,” he tweeted. “West Ham had bid rejected last month.”
Speaking to football.london former Arsenal and Lorient striker Jeremie Aliadiere cast his opinion on the possible transfer, calling the youngster ‘technically amazing’.
“For the money that we talk about I think he’ll make it,” he said.
“It’s about taking a gamble now when other teams aren’t prepared to.
“The market has gone so crazy in the last few years. If you want a top-level international it’s nothing cheaper than £40m.
“He’s a good player and has really good qualities. ‘I remember incredible quick feet, a technical player. Technically he was amazing.
“The only thing – he was young at the time – was making the right decision, passing when you need to pass.”
