Arsenal are looking to complete a number of deals this summer but have one big problem.
After missing out on Champions League football for the second season running, their funds have been massively depleted.
The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League while also losing the Europa League final – meaning they must spend at least another year in the second-tier competition.
And it has led to reports that they have been given just £45m to spend in the transfer market, and one deal has just opened up.
According to Brazilian publication Globo Esporte, Arsenal have made an enquiry to Gremio over the signing of Everton.
The Brazilian was brilliant at the Copa America, where he was named in the team of the tournament scoring three goals and creating one more after helping his country to victory.
The report goes on to state that new Arsenal sporting director Edu has played a huge role in talks.
The former Gunners star left his post in a similar role with the Brazil national team – where he would have undoubtedly known Everton.
And the 23-year-old broke silence on his future when he admitted that he could leave soon.
He said: ”I have a proposal, I can not talk about the club.
“I do not guarantee that I will play against Bahia on Wednesday, we’ll see.”
Arsenal have ran into problems all season after Unai Emery demanded a wide forward.
There have been several targets but the north London outfit have hit brick walls with all of them.
Top target Wilfried Zaha has been denied a move by Crystal Palace after they slapped a £100m price-tag on him.
And Bournemouth have also warned Arsenal off Ryan Fraser, who has been offered a new contract at the Cherries.
