Xaver Schlager has revealed he wants to play for Arsenal – only a month after joining Wolfsburg on a four-year deal from Red Bull Salzburg.
Schlager, 21, explained how he has been a fan of the Gunners since childhood and playing for them would be a ‘dream’.

Schlager told Kicker: ‘As a boy in Austria, you already start dreaming of making it abroad at the age of seven.
‘The league just isn’t that attractive. I haven’t reached my final goal yet, now the next goal is coming.
‘I’ve been a fan of Arsenal since I was a child.
‘That’s my dream club, and it’s my dream to get to play there.’
Schlager contributed eight goals and four assists in 44 games in all competitions for Red Bull Salzburg as they secured a fourth straight league title in Austria.
He has also earned 11 caps and scored one goal for his country since his debut in 2018.
Schlager could come up against his favourite club in the Europa League this season as both sides enter at the group stage.
